EMOTIONAL PRUNING WITH EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE
As I look out of my kitchen window into the garden it seems as if this summer there have been new shrubs in the garden. On the back border are now two healthy choisya shrubs with golden greeny yellow leaves giving brightness to even the gloomiest day during the unseasonal weather that summer 2007 has brought. They were there all along, hiding, overshadowed by vigorously growing shrubs at either side of them for the past two summers. Coping with two close bereavements within 18 months, other personal changes plus keeping my hypnotherapy and EFT work going meant that I couldnt do everything so it was the garden that got neglected. This year, in early spring I pruned back those shrubs which had taken over and discovered the two choisya shrubs hiding. They looked dwarfed, their leaves an insipid and sickly shade of washed out creamy yellow. I gave the shrubs some Reiki energy and a good watering. Now they had space to grow it was a joy to see how quickly they gained strength and grew and their leaves returned to the natural evergreen shade of golden greeny yellow.
Then I wondered, when we go through stressful and sad phases of our lifes journey, our positive emotions of happiness, peace, calmness, fun, joy, faith and trust can be dwarfed and overshadowed, just like the choisya shrubs, by the negative feelings of stress, sadness, fear, guilt, anger and exhaustion. But all we need to do to find all those positive feelings again is to prune away the negative feelings. That can be speedily and gently done using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT or emotional acupuncture works by tapping on acupressure points round the face and on the hand allowing the body energy to flow correctly again and the release of the negative emotions. This gives the positive feelings of peace and calmness space to grow and flourish paving the way for happiness, joy, optimism and fulfilment. And wherever you go you can always take your personal pruners with you and easily tap away the slightest hint of any negative emotions creeping back in. That keeps your positive emotions flourishing just like the choisya shrubs in my garden.
